An upazila level office under the Directorate of Cooperatives under the Department of Rural Development and Cooperatives of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. All activities related to upazila cooperatives are done from this office. There are registered cooperative societies under this office. Sending the proposal to the district cooperative office for registration of cooperatives, conducting annual audit of the registered cooperatives, inspecting them, forming the election committee and sending the proposal to the district cooperative office, forming the interim committee if the election is not possible, due government revenue from all these institutions. 'Audit Fee' and Cooperative Development Fund are collected. To receive, investigate and forward to the District Cooperative Office for taking action the complaints of any member or cooperative in favor of or against the cooperative. Primary Cooperative Societies (whose members are individual members) are regulated by District/Upazial Cooperative Offices and Central Cooperative Societies (whose members are Primary Cooperative Societies) are regulated by Divisional Cooperative Offices. In addition to this, implementation of various developmental projects assigned by the government, monitoring and participation in other upazila level agendas.
